Sudarsna Mukund is a movement artist and computer vision engineer. She began her training at Boston Ballet School and continued her dance education as a trainee with American Repertory Ballet. She has performed internationally in a wide range of productions such as City Ballet Boston’s Urban Nutcracker in Boston, Giselle, Swan Lake, Cinderella, and Carmen (staged by Sonia Alonso after Alberto Alonso) at the State Opera Plovdiv in Bulgaria, and Ragamala Dance’s Fires of Varanasi in Kerala, India. She has also performed in several theater and opera productions, including Hecuba with Pangea World Theater and Maria de Buenos Aires and Orpheus and Eurydice with State Opera Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She recently staged her first mixed media choreographic work, for i am in range, for Rejects Cohort presented at Mixed Blood Theater in Minneapolis. Currently, she is a dance captain and ensemble member in Pangea World Theater’s spring production of Rhinoceros by Eugene Ionesco, directed by Dipankar Mukherjee. She enjoys working across diverse movement styles and modalities, including Bharatanatyam, devised theater, and aerial arts. In her free time she enjoys doing circus arts and crocheting. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in computer science at the University of Minnesota and hopes to create connections between computer vision, motion tracking, and dance.
